Dear Fellow Economists and Esteemed Members of NESAAU,
It is with great honour and an immense sense of responsibility that I address you as President for the 2025/2026 academic session. This journey is not mine alone, it belongs to every passionate, dues-paying member of this great association.
Our administration is committed to three core promises: academic empowerment through quality materials and events, welfare excellence by amplifying every member's voice, and legacy building projects that will outlive this tenure.
The NESAAU constitution is our foundation. I urge every member to familiarise themselves with it and hold your executives accountable to its provisions. An informed member is NESAAU's greatest strength.
Together, we shall leave NESAAU better than we found it.
Long live NESAAU. Long live Adeleke University. 🎓

We establish this Constitution for effective governance and progress, recognizing the importance of collaboration and educational resources within and beyond our institution[cite: 10].
This body shall be known and addressed as the Nigerian Economics Students' Association Adeleke University (NESAAU)[cite: 31, 34]. This Constitution is supreme, and its provisions are binding on all members, subject to the regulations of Adeleke University and the Federal Republic of Nigeria[cite: 36]. Members of this Association are officially addressed as "NESITES"[cite: 39].
Membership is composed of all students in the Department of Economics who are duly registered through the payment of session dues[cite: 189]. Registered members have the right to use Association facilities, wear official merchandise, vote and be voted for in approved elections, and obtain a copy of this Constitution[cite: 191, 192, 194].
An agreed annual sum of ₦2,000 must be paid by registered chapters to the Treasurer for the efficient running of the Association, while the executive body pays ₦2,500[cite: 218]. Dues amounts are approved by the Executive Council in consultation with the Senate[cite: 197]. Financial standing is required for members to access academic and social criteria privileges[cite: 226].
Elections are conducted annually by an Electoral Commission composed of student representatives from each level[cite: 219, 221, 237]. Aspirants for President, Vice President, and Secretary General must maintain at least a 3.5 CGPA[cite: 227]. Voting is conducted via a simple open-secret ballot system, and candidates are elected by a simple majority[cite: 229, 231].
Offences include breaches of the Constitution, fraudulent practices, disclosure of confidential matters, and acting in a manner that brings the Association into disrepute[cite: 241, 242, 243, 244]. Sanctions range from caution and restitution to suspension from office or the Association, depending on the seriousness of the offence[cite: 253].
This Constitution is subject to amendment upon a resolution passed by a two-thirds (2/3) majority of the Senate House[cite: 273]. Amendments must be reviewed during a formally constituted meeting and must not contradict the fundamental objectives outlined in the preamble[cite: 274, 275]. Real words from dues-paying NESAAU members across all levels.
NESAAU changed how I approach my academics entirely. The past questions archive alone saved my GPA more than once. Being a dues-paying member is genuinely worth every naira.
The executives are so approachable and actually listen. When I had issues with my clearance, NESAAU sorted it out in less than a day. This association is the real deal.
I didn't take dues seriously in my first year and missed so much. Now I pay on day one every session. The seminars, the notes, the community, NESAAU is worth it 100%.
As a 200L student, NESAAU made me feel at home in the department immediately. The older members are welcoming and the resources they share are genuinely top-tier.
NESAAU is proof that a student association can be run with integrity. Transparent dues payment, real welfare support, and an exec team that actually shows up, rare and commendable.
